The ultimate goal of every artist is to get closer to knowing and expressing their authentic selves through their art. In this body of work, I allowed myself to disobey the voices in my head — the ones that say I "must" stay within constraints and warn me not to stray too far from the work I am known for. Something released in me while creating these paintings. I feel this new freedom — and I am excited by this evolution.
