Structured Light Series

My work explores abstraction through the physical construction of surface and light using the encausticand mixed media including shimmering golden pigments.

Working with layered wax, pigment, and material buildup, I develop paintings where light is not depicted but built—emerging through accumulation, transparency, and resistance. These surfaces function as perceptual fields, where structure and atmosphere coexist in tension.

I am interested in the threshold between clarity and obscurity, where geometry dissolves into sensation and material becomes a carrier for optical experience. The works exist between control and instability, forming spaces that shift as the viewer’s position changes.

Rather than representing light, the paintings attempt to construct it as a spatial and material condition.
