Encaustic wax allows for an abundance of texture. Techniques such as dripping, etching, and fusing create a range of tactile surfaces. The resulting surface may resemble frosted glass, woven fabric, or simply be a swath of brilliant color. No other medium can replicate the soft, luminous feeling of encaustic wax.
